It’s a rare view in the world’s flattest continent to see snow capped mountains rising from the land but this amazing view in the Kiewa Valley of North Eastern Victoria is one place where you will see this rare site. The mountain on the left is Mt Bogong which is the highest mountain in the Victorian Alps and it is untouched by the Australian snow skiing industry being a separate mountain from the Bogong High Plains and the ski resort of Falls Creek. Just above Mt Bogong in the foreground is another rare sight, a pair of Australian Wedge Tailed Eagles soar in the thermals. These beautiful eagles are one of the world’s largest with a wingspan up to 3m and they are a spectacular sight to see and it is only fitting that I should’ve accidentally captured them while shooting this panorama of the Victorian Alps. I will never get tired of coming down this stretch of the Kiewa Highway and seeing the snow capped mountains laid out before me, it is a truly special place in an amazing country.
